About
Catherine Kaufman is the Business Coordinator for BehNeem LLC, which markets the Epsilen Environment. In September 2007, the The New York Times announced a partnership with the service in its push into the distance learning market. The Epsilen management team consists of professionals from BehNeem LLC, the holding company that houses Epsilen; from The New York Times Company, which now owns a majority interest in Epsilen; and from the academic community.
Catherine has also served as Coordinator of ePortConsortium since 2002, and assisted in producing the White Paper on ePortfolios written by the founding members of the ePortConsortium group in 2003. She maintains the ePortConsortium Web site to provide news and resources regarding the use and progress of ePortfolio software systems.
Since 2001 Catherine has worked with Dr. Ali Jafari, founder and architect of the Epsilen Environment, originally within the CyberLab at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis and now with BehNeem LLC.
Jafari and Kaufman co-edited the Handbook of Research on ePortfolios, published in May 2006.
Catherine attended University of Wisconsin - Madison and Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University.
